e3 Aviation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization, located in Birmingham, AL. Our mission is to equip, engage, and empower our youth, by providing aviation industry career awareness, and providing career pathways that lead to the aviation industry.

The Future of Aviation
Problem: There is no way to be exact, however there may be over 500,000 pilots, and 500,000 maintenance technicians needed over the next 20 years. There will also be over 80,000 pilots retiring over the same period of time. Aviation industry workforce needs are a growing problem for the United States and the world. The shortage of pilots, air traffic controllers, avionics technicians, and aircraft mechanics seem to have a domino effect on airlines, airports, travelers, and households. The large number of pilots that are reaching retirement age, along with fewer pilots entering the workforce is of great concern. The identification of funding opportunities for future workers is also a concern. A declining pool of qualified workers hinders operation, progression, and the overall objectives of stakeholders. Regional airlines often feel the brunt of the growing skills-gap, and as the industry forecast indicates, hundreds of thousands of pilots, technicians, and cabin crew will be needed over the next 20 years. The forecast includes the needs of civil aviation, commercial aviation, business aviation, helicopter industries, and even the military.
